Timing: Newborns are best photographed within the first ten days of life.
Before you come: Newborn schedules are basically non-existent, but I do ask that you plan to feed them once you arrive. This way, they are nice and sleepy and can transition into their photo shoot like a pro. Also, dress baby in a loose-ish (just not super tight) diaper and easy to remove clothing.
During the Session: The temperature will be warm! Why, you ask? Baby just spent 9 months inside your tummy and is used to being cozy and warm. This will allow for a comfy, sleep baby, all ready for picture day! If baby is awake, we will photograph them wrapped until they settle into sleep.
Set Up: I keep newborn sessions very simple and focused on your new bundle of joy. Prior to picture day, we will discuss color preferences so I can have them ready to go. This is typically 2-3 coordinating colored and neutral blankets and a fur.
Props: I keep props to a minimum, and are usually a little special something you bring from home.
Editing: I will edit flakes, blemishes, redness, and anything else not always apart of the baby. Some things may not be able to be removed, but I give you my word I will do my best to clean it up while keeping everything looking natural and not over edited. You will receive color and black and white for all images.
Turn Around Time: 2-3 weeks
